Declaration of War to BREIN

Dear readers of this blog and friends,

We of Spikewise.com want to make clear that we are not condoning the actions partaken by Brein against the Piratebay. We stand behind the use of an open internet environment. The way Brein is operating is against the constitution of our country and puts ISP's in a position they are not qualified to engage in.

Wonders in Science

Recently the wondrous world of science has produced yet another marvel in it's breakthroughs. Currently we are all aware of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) and the vast amounts of satelites orbiting our little planet. But noone seems to know what most of these machines do and what purpose we have in having these machines. It seems just yesterday that the first computers entered our lives when a relatively unknow group of nerds in California went out of their way's to promote their little machine we now know as Apple Macintosh and software developer Microsoft.

Nostalgia: Starcom

From the gates i used to call the Saturday Morning Cartoon Binge, one series which everyone seems to remember still remains in my mind. Starcom: The U.S. Space Force.

This show from 1987 was cancelled after one season and due to lack of interest from the general public, the series was canceled without a clear ending. 13 episodes were made and a toy line which hit the market at the same time as the show was aired.

Nostalgia: X-Men

As a big superhero geek, i love seeing series that involve superpowers, explosions but most of all, a strong story. One of those series that did that for me is X-Men.

Nostalgia: Batman

The last days have been a blast for me when it comes to see that a new Batman series has arrived. Batman - the Brave and the Bold. Thanks to a good sense of humor and a good storyline which proceeds throughout the whole series with sidestories.

The focus in this series lies in the heroes in which all seem to have a family life next to their superhero deeds. This sometimes makes for hilarious situations in which the hero will have to deal with their family next to the villains in the series.

Arcades: Growing trend.

For 40 years back, a new and exciting exhibit started to show around in the world. Arcades! In these halls and hangouts, games we're played on machine the size of vending machines on which supreme games could be played for people to enjoy and have given a lot of people good memories when it comes to the "good ol' times".

Retro Gaming: Yo! Joe!

The first thing most of you retroloving geeks will think when reading the title of this retro review would probably be: G.I. Joe... Well... Guess again! Today i want to tell you about the Game Yo! Joe!

Retro Gaming: Rick Dangerous

At one time the last century, gaming was still in it's younger stage and games we're a bit simpler. A few systems had risen from the great videogame crash which due to the massive amount of computers and systems that had been produced over a small amount of time. One of the more amazing systems due to it's graphical and audio capabillity's was the Commodore Amiga. I personally own a 500+ and it is a big but very effective beast.

One of the more popular games on the systems (hence the amounts of sequals) was Rick Dangerous released in 1989.

Retro Gaming: The Second Coming!

Welcome back to the second part of my retro console review. If you missed the first part you can click here to read the article.

Through the years the first console war began making it's way through the vast world of videogames. The big names in the scene were trying to duke it out. But as the history books tell their story, i think i will do justice with beginning with the winner of that era.

Atari 2600.

Retro Gaming: Rise of the Consoles

Hey everyone and welcome to my first post in wich i will tell you about some retro consoles i have myself or have ever used or played on. As early as the 70's consoles have taken over the home gaming market and will probably continue doing so in the upcoming years. While PC gaming has evolved greatly in recent years and in most cases you can buy hardware far superior to the newer consoles, one must never forget the times where you sat in the dark in front of your television playing on the Atari or Nintendo shooting ducks or trying to avoid pixels wich to you represented birds or bullets.
